The deferred payment option is designed to enable the seller of the property to order a Home Information Pack when they put the house on the market and pay for it on completion.
The seller is charged £30 upfront which is deducted from the total fee. The remaining HIP fee will be taken from their debit or credit card either on completion or after nine months, whichever comes first.
The cost of a deferred payment Home Information Pack is £350 (£30 upfront and £320 deferred).
There are two methods of processing a deferred payment agreement:
Paper Option
This method is designed to be used by vendors who prefer not to use the online system or do not have an email address. We will take your bank details, credit or debit card details and their solicitor's details (if they are known at the time). We will complete the online form which produces a downloadable, printable agreement which the seller will need to sign and faxed or posted to the deferred payment provider.
Paperless Option
This method involves us entering the seller's email address into our system. The deferred payment provider then sends the seller an email with a link to their website where the agreement can be completed in the convenience and security of the seller's home.
